Frequently asked questions

About the solver, your screenshots, the daily free solve and the plans.

What is Lucky Shot Solver?

Lucky Shot Solver (luckyshotsolver.com) is a fan-made website that solves 8 Ball Pool's daily Lucky Shot puzzle, also known as the Golden Shot. You upload a screenshot of the puzzle and it shows you a video of the shot that wins that exact layout. The guide walks through it step by step.

Is it free?

Every free account gets one solve a day. For more than that, a plan gives you unlimited solves for $4.99 a month or $30 a year. There are no ads on the site, on any plan. See pricing.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes, with a free account. The daily free solve belongs to an account, which is how it's kept to one a day for everyone. Sign in with Google or with a link we email you. There's no password to set.

What counts as my free solve?

A solve only counts when a layout is matched and its video is shown. Uploads that don't match, or that can't be read, don't use it. Uploading the same layout again later that day is free too, so you can come back to the video.

When does my free solve reset?

At midnight UTC, every day. Solving a different layout before then needs a plan.

Is this cheating or against the game's rules?

Lucky Shot doesn't touch the game. It doesn't read the game's memory, change files, automate taps or connect to your 8 Ball Pool account. It only looks at a screenshot you choose to upload, then shows you a video that is already public on YouTube. It's the same as searching YouTube for your layout, just faster and more accurate.

What happens to my screenshot?

It is processed in memory to find the layout, then thrown away when your request finishes. It is not saved or shared. The privacy policy has the details.

Why does it say my layout is new?

Either the layout isn't in the catalog yet, or the screenshot was hard to read, and the result tells you which. Try a full, uncropped screenshot taken with your phone's screenshot button, with no pop-ups over the table. If it still isn't found and the result screen offers to send the screenshot in, do that so the layout can be added.

Does it know every layout?

Not every one yet. The catalog grows as creators publish new solutions, and when a layout is missing the solver says so instead of guessing.

Can it give me the wrong shot?

It's built to avoid that. A layout only matches when the positions of every ball and the target line up closely, and the solver would rather say "not found" than show a near miss. No outcome in the game is guaranteed, though, because the shot still has to be copied by hand.

The video wins, but my copy of the shot doesn't. Why?

Aim is very sensitive on these tables. Pause the video at the moment of the shot and line up the guide line against the same ball or cushion point. Match the power level too. A slightly different cue can also change how the guide line looks, so trust the line's target point more than its length.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The site runs in any modern phone or desktop browser, and normal screenshots from either kind of phone work.

Who made the videos?

The winning-shot videos are made by 8 Ball Pool players and published on their own YouTube channels, including Infinite Gaming, Easy Diy, 8 ball pool lucky shot trick and Y Sagala. They play from YouTube, and every match names the creator it came from.

Is Lucky Shot made by Miniclip?

No. Lucky Shot is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Miniclip.

How do I contact you or delete my account?
